  • Maintaining Size with Blast and Cruise (for TRT guys)

I've had a few thing come up that has kept me out of the gym and kitchen regularly for about 3 months now. Once I saw I was only going to be able to lift once or twice a week, I finished up my last cycle and decided to use my trt dose of 125mgs of test a week, coupled with 200mgs of deca. Even with the lack of lifting, I maintained 187lbs the entire time, even adding a few pounds to around 190. I finally have got caught up and am able to train 4 times a week, which I prefer 5. Started this 3 weeks ago and havent changed the doses. Eating has still been pretty clean and calories have kept me up, but in 3 weeks I have went to around 200lbs! This excites me just because I'm almost where my goal was set 3years ago when I was 150lbs, size wise. Body fat is hovering around 12 to 13% (which I like to be at 10 to 12). Goal has always been 205 to 210 at about 10%.
Anyways, long story short, and my reason for posting is, low doses can be very helpful, even for a cycle. Before I did blast and cruise, I could go from 170 to 180 in 10 weeks, then lose almost all the muscle, but replace it with fat when I came off because I kept calories high. So for TRT guys, this is a killer way to maintain and add while "off". I would never recommend it for people with a healthy HPTA. But even cycles for the occasional user, I still will recommend lower doses just because of the success I have had the past 3 months. For instance, 250mgs of testosterone weekly WILL add muscle. It will also make it easier for needle shy first timers to cycle.
I'm not saying I wont use high doses anymore. I will. I just think there are ways to add muscle a little more slowly, which should mean muscle gains should be much more maintainable than adding 20lbs in 12 weeks only to drop cycle and lose alot of the actual muscle.
It's so good to be back at steroidal.com!

      Welcome back!

This is great, well done. Cruising is really beneficial and helps keep gains when cycling a lot, more so than conducting PCT.

This comes back to what I have said for your - grow into your dose. Many people increase their steroid doses and throw in new compounds, when in reality, they could gain lean muscle again on the same cycle they did X weeks ago.

Anabolic steroids will no doubt help build muscle, but a solid diet, high in clean calories is so important. No doubt this is why you held onto gains and put on weight during your cruise.

I remember you telling me years ago to grow into my dose. Of couse then, being a new user, thought you were just preaching the "fear" that so many of the other guys constantly ridiculed new guys with. But it is absolutley true.
We see it all the time. "My first cycle of 500mgs of test was awesome! I was thinking of adding 350mgs of tren for my second. Suggestions?"
If it aint broke, DONT FIX IT! I wish a thousand times over I had listened to you back then. With the high doses I've used now, it almost feels like a waste. I was approached for advice a day or 2 ago by a guy in his mid 30s. He had no experience with AAS but was very knowledgeable about lifting. He has been training for years. Big ol boy. Not cut or ripped per se, but obviously fit. He told me he was told by an amateur body builder (who was also his supplier) to use a gram of test a week for 10 to 12 weeks. It wasn't horrible advice, but wasn't good advice either. He had no AI, Hcg, or PCT plans. I sent him to CEM of course. But I told him to use 400mgs a week for 10 to 12 weeks. I wanted to tell him 300, but his gear was dosed at 200mgs and I didnt want to complicate things.
Goes to show that newbies, like I was with you, should heed the advice of knowledgeable people who know by experience.

There are posts I've seen by some of the best trainers over at PM where they advice a similar protocol, in that cruising is done on 100-250mg Test + 2-4ius GH. Thats pretty much all the offseason, then ramp as competition approaches. I believe even the pro's (not all of them) apply something like this, so their body is super fresh going into a major comp.
