Anyone ever used diuretics? I have my planned protocol for night before show and day of. However I want to "test" it out before the show and see how it does. Got some dyazide

I wouldn't suggest doing it. I took dyazide for one comp, and although I did look dryer, it wasn't worth the cramping and overall feeling of shit/dehydration. On-stage cramping is an issue even though it is potassium sparing. Only took it that one time, and never will again.

Diuretics are one thing I am a bit rusty on when it comes to knowledge. I don't know any names of diuretic compounds off the top of my head (the synthetic or pharmaceutical grade ones anyhow). If you can find one and let me know, I can research a bit of it, look over its pharmacology, and tell you what I think. Aside from that, I do know of typical diuretics off the top of my head that most people would already know of, such as dandelion root/extract, caffeine, alcohol, etc.
Apparently (and this IS confirmed) Ronnie Coleman's diuretic trick the night before a competition was one or two small shots of vodka with a cup or two of coffee. He said he would wake up the next morning totally dry, paper thin skin with vascularity blaring out. Now, whether or not this trick was icing on the cake of any diuretics he was already using, I have no idea, but it is highly likely that he would have been using some kind of other major diuretic on top of that. I have a buddy who used that trick along with some Aromasin or Arimidex on beach day and he said it worked wonders for him.
The risks with the heavy pharmaceutical/synthetic diuretics is that they significantly manipulate the excretion of very, VERY important electrolytes in the body (namely, potassium and a couple of others). There have been many well-documented incidences of pro and competitive bodybuilders who have almost killed themselves because they didn't have a full grasp/control/understanding of the effects of these diuretics on their electrolyte balance. So, be very aware of what you are taking and how it works physiologically, and what to do in the event that something goes wrong. It's a well-documented FACT that the biggest killer of most of the bodybuilders that have died was not AAS/HGH/PEDs, but were due to the use of strong and dangerous diuretics. Just look up some of those who have had kidney failure (right on competition day), or pros like Andreas Munzer, who killed himself because of a diuretic he used that was so strong that his blood viscosity was so thick (due to dehydration) that the coroner's report stated his blood was as viscous as used engine oil from a car.Last edited by Dan C; 07-16-2014, 07:44 PM.Chief writer for Steroidal.com

I've heard about the red wine trick. I wonder if it works better than vodka for other reasons. I'm assuming dry red wine. I wonder what properties it has that makes someone dryer than vodka would.Chief writer for Steroidal.com

Aspirin will only serve to mitigate ONE of the countless issues here. If you're landing yourself in a serious situation with the use of strong diuretics, the first thing you should do is call 911 and/or get to an emergency room as fast as you can, not reach for the bottle of Aspirin.Chief writer for Steroidal.com
