  • MDS1' s Autumn Bulk Log.

I intend to compete again in the Spring of 2016 so It's time to do a a bit of a bulking Cycle. I tend to stay lean year round, so decent food intake is first priority to force a few gains.

    My Stats:
    Age 52
    Height 5'8
    Weight 205lbs
    Chest 48
    Arms 17
    Waist 32
    Quads 25
    Calves 17

Maximum bench at present is 300lbs, Squat 420lbs, Deadlift 400lbs. I am not a powerlifter, nor do I train like one - I list these maximum lifts as a rough guide to my current strength levels. I have no accurate way to measure my bodyfat, but an educated guess would be about 12-14%. I have abs year round, and quite vascular. Anyway, listed below is my proposed Cycle. I'm going to run this Array for Eight weeks.

Testosterone Propionate 700mg a week (100mg injected daily.)
Trenbolone Enanthate 300mg a week (150mg injected twice a week) I prefer Tren Ace, but I get a tren cough real bad with that. Availability is not good either.
    Equipoise 400mg a week (200mg injected twice a week)

I don't normally use any AI- but I am changing my mind on that- so will use Aromasin as that is all I can get hold of.

I train fast and intense, 10-12 sets to failure on large muscle groups, 6-8 sets on delts & arms. I do cardio pre-contest only, so I wont be doing any cardio on this bulking cycle.

I will try to pack in 3500-4000Kcals daily, split over 7 meals, I'll throw in a few tubs of Ben & Jerry's with my Whey shakes, aside from that- I'll eat fairly clean.
I will keep you guys posted on progress, maybe once a week or so?
    Cheers!

Hi admin, I take extra strong vitamin B tabs (Solgar) which is a daily thing, but nothing else.

            Should I?

Shelby is an IFBB pro and knows his stuff when it comes to supplements and on cycle health. I'm not big on some of his training routines, but they've been proven to work for many clients. What I'm trying to say is, I'm going to use this list myself. I can attest to the NAC, asprin, fish oil and ubiquinol. No matter what I take orally, my liver is in tip top shape, as well as good blood flow. The D3, in my opinion, is a must for all men on cycle or not. Great list here and thanks a ton Admin!

MDS1...it can be a pain to try to get everything in order and remember everything to take. I have a 7 day pill dispenser that I fill every Sunday for the week. Some of the supplements on this list is a must in my opinion. I think the aditional care you take while on cycle is as important as the cycle itself, as health is my number 1 consern. Admin highly recommends an on cycle support that in going to get very soon. He posted a link and I'll find it and send it to you. It's about one of the only supps I feel is worth the money. Alot of proven research has been done on it. And remember, I think that 99% of all supplements are total garbage, not worth the packaging they are in. However, the vitamins, aminos, omegas, etc are all very beneficial. God blood work on cycle is a blessing and I can't tell you how happy I have been with my pre, during, and post cycle blood work since being a member here. I am confident that my blood work is almost always good (except my cholesterol). But these recommendations here are cheap. I mean, I take like 12-15 pills a day and it breaks down to roughly a dollar (US currency) a day. That's nothing to know that your internals are functioning as good, if not better, while cycling. I'm digging your log. You know your stuff bro, and I'm thankful as can be you're a part of this community. I've learned alot from you in the short time you've joined us. Thanks buddy.

Ok it's been seven days ....

Results so far are mild, which to be fair is to be expected this early in. Aside from a little site discomfort from the daily Test Prop jabs, no problems with administering the Array.
Weight straight of bed this morning was 207lbs, no real noticeable strength gains yet - however I trained chest Friday and instead of nine reps at 220lbs on the bench I hit 11 without a spot. Hmmm. Could have been "Just a good day" tho

Trained legs today and I normally don't go much above 396lbs on the Squat, but managed a couple of extra reps at that weight too. Leg press at 880lbs for eight reps was a breeze, which was very gratifying. I have noticed a deep intense pump when I train on a cycle, and this is starting to happen, which is also good news. Diet and kitchen discipline has been satisfactory, but a couple of meals have been missed at work - due to being a bit busy.

With regard to support supplements and vitamins, I have to admit to being Old School about these. I am here to learn, and gain more knowledge, but I do question the validity of taking loads of pills - when a good, solid, nutrient dense diet provides all of these ?

Anyway, week one report over: except to add that mentally I feel very positive, (I usually do on a cycle) and have a general feeling of well being.
                      Cheers Guys!

P.S. If it is correct protocol, and not spamming the Forum - I will post a few progress pics along the way

Even with a solid colourful diet, you wont be able to get the right amounts of vitamins and minerals to help protect against heart problems and CHD.

Some IFBB's are more open with what dietary supplements thay take and which they dont for health. Someone like Evan seems to be very health conscious and uses the supplements I've stated every day.

Putting 'old school' aside, since then we've made good gains in health understanding and how to prevent and treat problems. So perhaps you should get with the times a little and not be so 'old school' when it comes to health.

Lots of bodybuilders have died in the last 3-5 years for health problems associated with heart health, which a lot of people speculate is due to the amount of androgens, HGH, drugs and peptides being used now.

Covering all the bases with dietary supplements for health isn't that hard and wont cost too much. And it might be something you can regret a lot.

                              Week Two:

Nothing of any real importance to report, sadly. Body weight is still at 207lbs and strength levels much the same. I do feel 'fuller' though, and holding a deep muscle pump for much longer after a training session. Diet hasn't been perfect this week, I've missed quite a few meals due to extra work commitments, so that needs attention. I have the body type and metabolism that burns up calories at a furious rate. Quite useful at dieting time - but hard work to put extra weight on when trying to bulk up.

Administration of the Array has been straight forward, and without problems so far. I have no side effects I am aware of. I feel positive and training is going well. I'll post an update next week.

                              Cheers All!
