Although my shake often includes a banana I agree with you. The only time its necessary is if the individual is an endurance athlete or doing say 2 a days for football or something. In those 2 cases the Glycogen stores needs replenishing as quickly as possible. In all other cases glycogen stores are replenished just fine and the cost of simple carbs far outweighs any perceived benefit - especially when it doesn't exist.

Yup...if doing 2 hardcore w/o in an 8 hour period then by all means but I would concentrat on a proper pre-w/o shake and carbs that will maintain will be plenty.

On the other hand I believe in a feeding window within 5 hours or so after a workout of crabs and protein.

Ill agree that post workout shakes and "meals" are for the most part bogus. I think if a persons diet is spot on, thats the best option. I still drink my whey isolate and pixy stick though. Always have, so it is habit I guess.

I time my training session 1 hr after eating. Then by the time I go to the gym and train my post training meal is nothing more than another normal meal. I still stick to eating every three hrs from the minute I get up till bed time

if you use a good tasting chocolate whey powder like muscle tech's nitro tech, it's pretty good, or if using unflavored whey, add another banana to make more banana flavour..
